Our third visit to this York location certainly did not disappoint.

We began the evening with a group walk around to view the numerous rooms in whichwe would work. As we walked around, one male guest suggested that he hadheard a voice saying something to the effect of "Albert" or"Bertie" when coming out of the toilet. Mike, our medium suggested that he sensed the energy of an older woman, not present there and then, but expected to appear later on during the night. Mike also felt the floor vibrating beneath his feet, although Richard Felix felt nothing.

The attic room had a strange musty smell and the group noticed that the EMF meter seemed to respond when Richard Felix spoke about Catholicism. Some participants felt footsteps beneath the floor. In the Mask room, Mike picked upon the energy of a couple of servants, male and female and claimed to also sense them in the adjoining mirror room. Mike Tottey our Medium sensed the energy of a lady in the dining room and surmised that this might relate to Elizabeth, the woman who we had contacted on a previous visit to York. Outside on the landing, Mike instructed Rachel ( owner and host of Ghost Night Events ) to take a picture in a certain location as he had seen an Orb and she did, catching an orb on photograph.

In the Séance room, Mike recalled that on previous visits we had sensed the energy of an unpleasant character called "Tom", although this time he believed that he sensed a "John" who had owned the house and did not feel pleasant. Mike suggested that the room would probably get colder during the night and that we would probably see some action. Mike felt someone walking around the room, as did Brian one of our team assistants, although Richard Felix sensed nothing; Mike also felt his chair move. Mike explained that he perceived Tom as dressing all in black and as he spoke, a female guest felt tingling and someone walking behind her. Once again, Mike instructed Rachel to take a photo and the third picture contained a face like orb which also looked to have hair. A female guest sensed energy under her chair and Charlie, a male guest, felt an uncomfortable tightness around his throat causing him to cough and gasp for air. I took the male guest out of the room. On the landing he immediately pointed upwards and suggested that a person had hanged in that location, Charlie felt extremely uncomfortable and so I took him outside for some fresh air and a drink of water. When Charlie and I had returned, we explained again the feeling of strangulation and hanging on the landing. The EMF responded as he talked, Mike felt something touch the back of his chair and a number of people experienced a tickling sensation, rather like a cat's tail. Rachel again took a photo showing an orb, whilst Mike explained that he felt oppressed and Phillip felt upset and said that he wanted to cry.

As an experiment, all men then left the room, leaving the ladies by themselves. During this experiment, Rachel asked if the spirit present represented the man who had killed the lady and in response, the lights went out completely. Somepeople heard whispers and groans and Rachel felt a draft on her lap. The room seemed to get darker and one lady suggested that she felt sick. Amanda felt the hair on her left side tingling and moving and Rachel thought that she saw dark shapes moving there.. Phillip ( a regular Guest at Ghost Night Events ) thought that he saw a girl on a chair in the corner of the room.

After our refreshment break, we began our more detailed investigation in the Attic room. Two men sitting on a bench believed that they felt it move and Amanda heard a noise. Rachel switched the radio on (Franks box) and we started calling out. I took the digital camera and climbed on a bench to take a photo through a hole in the wall which led into an adjoining
( inaccessible ) room. As I raised by hand to take the photo, Amanda, Rachel and Phillip all heard aman's voice on the Franks Box clearly calling "Brett". I called out but no other responses came.

Rachel felt as if she had a headache at the top of her head. She called out toAnna/Anne but had no reply. Meanwhile, Richard claimed to hear lots of bumps and bangs. Phillip sensed a little girl crouching in the rafters, as if preparing to receive a beating and this made him anxious. Mike announced the name Edward Bretherton and suggested that one of the monks used this name, before he turned into a monk. Richard could not understand why a monk would haunt a domestic house. Myself, Amanda and Rachel heard voices on the radio whilst Richard continued to hear voices outside of the room - but usually only when people talking as opposed to silent. Philip felt the young girl, Anne, holding his hand and suggested that she felt unhappy and that something in the doorway,outside of the room had upset her. Rachel could hear humming / singing and Phillip attributed this to Anne. Brian also suggested as did Charles and Janet that people on the steps outside could hear singing and Rachel felt something touching her face. The Franks box generated more voices in response to us asking for "Edward Bretherton". Phillip suggested that the little girl had left and gone to the Dining Room, but he also said that he felt sick.

We used the EMF meter to try and communicate. The entity suggested that it hadcome along with someone else that night and gave response to Richard III whenconsulted on monarchs. It claimed to have built this house and described itself as a Lancastrian who fought at the battle of Towton. The girl with the headset also experienced some answers. Further questions yielded nothing and two photos taken by myself showed no results. Mike called out to "John Knowles"but again no response came. I asked if the individual died here and a response of "Yes" came on the headphones, outside of the room.

We moved to the mask room and set up the Ouija board using three females todrive it. Rachel called out, as did myself and Mike but we had no response. Mike reported feeling sick and Phillip reported the feeling of pulling backwards and forwards. Richard joined the board and also called out whichcaused the planchette to move to yes. We apparently contacted a male spiritaged 42 who lived and died of natural causes in the house during the 1500'swhen Elizabeth I had the throne. The entity could not spell his name howeverand after asking over a dozen possible names, he finally said yes to Henry. He described himself as a good catholic who opposed Elizabeth and lived in fear.He said that he had priests who came to his house and confirmed that we had 14 spirits in our vicinity. He disliked ghost hunting because of his faith and added that John Knowles also felt fed up with it and had responsibility for threatening people in the Séance Room.

He suggested that he did not feel angry and would forgive us. He said that he remained not because he loved the house, but because he felt trapped as he had done something bad, in conflict with his faith. He apparently did bad things tochildren and acknowledged that the lady present tries to protect them. He added that he still likes to chase the children and that they hide from him. He admitted that the girl earlier had hidden from him. He also said that Edward could leave this place if he wished, but he himself could not. He again acknowledged that he had committed a cardinal sin and broken one of the ten commandments. He had also broken one of the four mortal sins as he had murdered. However, he did not strangle the lady.

He explained that he had killed a Catholic and when asked if he had killed hisbrother, the Ouija spelled out "DEMON". He explained that he considered himself a demon and did not know that he could leave. Richard tried to encourage him to move towards the light but he did not trust Richard. The EMF flashed red and Mike had to leave the room. The Ouija continued to move andso we closed the session. The spirit refused to come to the Séance room. Phillip also felt a tightness again and two girls felt drained after doing the Ouija Board and wanted painkillers.

We moved to the Séance Room and joined hands around the table to get the energy moving. Mike called out to Tom and John Knowles. Phillips reported feeling light headed and sick. Richard joined in the calling out and some reported hearing light taps in the room. Richard asked if Victoria or Elizabeth had joined us. Mike suggested that he saw an orb near the door and Richard claimed to have seen something go across the door, earlier. I took photographs, but saw nothing. We realised at this point that we did not have a circle of hands andso corrected this. I felt as though something watched us as we continued tocall out. Brian felt a draught on his left hand and some of the girls startedto feel cold. A guest wearing night vision goggles reported seeing orbs above the table. Rachel also saw a light over the table on the webcam, she also felt pulled backwards and heard footsteps outside of the door. Phillip continued to shake.

Mike suggested that he could feel energy and could sense things floating over the table. Someone with the night vision goggles again confirmed this. I took a number of photos and one of them contained an orb, as seen above Rachel's head. Some members of the group suggested that they heard heavy breathing out. As an experiment, Richard suggested that we should try to tilt the table; whilst the table did not move, a few people, including myself and Richard, sensed vibrations. Rachel felt strong air currents and observed a stroke of movementon the webcam. Amanda and Rachel witnessed Phillip apparently moving and lookingtowards the webcam orbs, on multiple occasions.

Rachel asked for the murdered lady to come forward and Mike asked if the entity felt happy to let us go. Rachel observed an orb moving by Mike. Around this time I found myself getting rather sleepy and suddenly observed a greenish vertical light near the center of the table. Seconds later I saw the upper bodyof a woman with long blonde hair. She wore a red velvet like top and stood atthe other side of the room, behind Craig. This happened just after Mike had called out asking if anyone restricted the spirit and that they should let them come forward. Rachel called out regarding the pregnant lady who got murdered and soon after she saw a big orb go behind Phillip just after he moved and looked. Richard Felix also heard a bang in the vicinity. Once again, the webcam showed alight near Phillip and Amanda and Rachel observed as he looked and then went towards the door. Rachel and Amanda saw a shadow on the webcam near the door.As we left the Séance Room, we again passed the landing and Charles now broke down and seemed very upset claiming to not know why and as Rachel told him to come away from the area and he had his sensations changed.

We moved into the Dining Room and Rachel immediately checked the webcam and witnessed a lot of moving orbs. Mike called out as we initiated a Ouija board session with six participants (two male, four female). The presence of a lady entered the room and she confirmed that she waited for her husband to return from sea, often standing in the window looking out. The lady confirmed that shelived in the 1900's but could not namethe ship that he sailed on. She suggested that her husband had participated inthe Australia run and eventually said "yes" when asked about"HMS Unicorn". Richard suggested that this ship had a collision inthe Mediterranean in 1905/1906, causing it to get sliced in half. The planchette moved in circles as if the lady now panicked. She eventually calmed down and suggested that they had never found his body. Rachel saw a light anomaly near Richard and the planchette again moved at speed whilst the K2 meters lit up. She confirmed that her husband had command of the ship but then the communication faded and so we turned over the plancette and closed the session. Mike explained some of the history of the ship and as he did, the EMF meters continued to flicker. Mike also suggested several sea warfare scenarios but the lady did not answer and so we said goodbye and left the room.

We entered the Cellar and Brian set up a camera to observe an experiment which involved striking the floor with a metal object. Richard Felix theorised that by disturbing the stone / brick foundations, spirit energy might manifest. The EMF's meters didappear to register some spikes in association with the metal object striking the floor, although we could not eliminate the possibility of other energy fields including a nearby pipe holding electrical cables. This theory needs further objective investigation with more hardware.

We ended the night with a debriefing and said goodbye to the guests - we will return to York soon to continue this work!
