Fwd: Cusworth Hall writeup
We arrived as Cusworth Hall and made preparations for the investigation. Our visit visit to this impressive location certainly looked promising. We found the staff particularly accomodating and friendly and so began our preliminary investigation.
During our walkaround with medium Graeme Fryer, he sensed the presence of a girl aged about 13 who frequents parts of the building, including the school room. He also confimed the presence of a strict gentleman spirit and admitted that the room felt "wrong" to him - like it had not always operated as a school room. Graeme suggested that the girl had long dark hair below her shoulder and wore a long white gown. He sensed the name "Annabell" and suggested that he could feel her skipping down the corridor. Craig, a guest, also had previously sensed a little girl skipping in the kitchen. The Kitchen istelf felt extremely cold. Graeme sensed the residual energy of an elderly maid and started to do some temperature checks in one corner of the kitchen. As he performed the checks, the temperature dropped from 3.8 degrees C to 1.9 and Graeme sensed that the lady wanted to play this evening.
In the main entrance hall, Graeme sensed the presence of a man on the stairs standing near to the mirror. He described him as bearded and guests witnessed orbs in this location via the night vision goggles. Graeme subsequently sat on the stairs and started to call out - as he did this he also sensed a lady spirit on the other staircase and suggested that she did not want to come any further forward.
We investigated the numerous upstairs rooms in the house. Graeme did not feel particularly comfortable in one room and suggested that maybe a baby had died in the room in years gone by. Rachel claimed to smell flowers like violets. A sealed up window in one rooom gave Graeme the impression that the window had once had a use for delivering sacks of goods.
Back down in the main reception area, Graeme found himself drawn into a side room which contained a couple of dresses. Graham suggested that he heard a voice suggesting that his daughter had two identical dresses, albeit in different sizes - Graham confirmed this and also said that the voice told him not to let his daughter sit in the horse - he admitted that he takes her to feed the horses. Rachel and 2 guests also clearly heard through hearing enhancers a little girls voice saying 'Do not go on the horses'. As we left the room, one guest saw a large orb-like globe moving up the stairs, via the night vision goggles.
After a break, we began our investigation in the main reception room, using the Ouija board. We did not get any activity and so Lesley and myself moved into the side room to do a quiet vigil, although this yeilded no results. We decided to move to the room near the kitchen and once again performed a Ouija board. We received seemingly random letters during this time but finally established the identity of a 5 year old girl. In the adjoining room, we received only slight activity whilst using a glass to communicate. Before we left we noticed that the temperature had once again risen to 5.4. Rachel had started vigils in the 'death room' where a gentleman came forward from the 1700's whom was a political writer, this room was where he would write and ponder upon thought. He was seen moving in shadow form around the room and Rachel sensed a lady present with him. He claimed this was his wife. We asked for him to move the table we were all sat at and he did this turning it and tipping it in response to questions. Rachel asked if he would move the table closer to her and he readily moved the table towards her. The group were amazed. He felt to be a strong proud gentleman and didn't like the coffin hearse in his room at all.
In the school room we sat around and started to use the Ouija board. We received minimal results and so switched to using the glass with which we established the identity of a young girl who wanted to play games with us. She seemed to know that she had died, but before long the conversation seemed to break down and we agreed that we had apparently contacted someone else. When asked whether they would like to speak to someone else present, the glass moved towards Frankie. A former school friend of her's had apparently come through - a 14 year old boy called David who had died in a mototbike accident. He did not feel happy with the way in which he had died and did not feel ready to move on as he never got to say goodbye. He claimed to have friends around him and agreed to show himself on a photograph. Despite our attempts, no spirit showed on the photo. Some of the questions seemed rather leading in their nature and I worried that Frankie might subconsciously influence the planchette. I asked Frankie to let go of the planchette and we asked the spirit to give the first letter of his girlfriend's name - he gave "R" which Frankie identified as correct (name of Rebecca). He then gave "B" as the first letter of his mother's name and again got this correct (name of Barbara). We thanked the spirit and closed the session.
In the so called death room, a room containing a coffin on a cart, we failed with the Ouija board and so performed a table tipping experiment instead. Whilst we and received some results, we felt uncertain as to whether or not participants had pressed to hard on the table. Graham did pick up on anything in this room.
We moved onto the main staircase which by now felt very cold. Frankie started to use the dowsing rods and had some good results in response to our questions. I also used the rods and received some results, although nothing conclusive. Amanda and another guest thought that they saw movement at the foot of the far staircase. With only a little time remaining, we moved to the military history room at the far end of the building and tried another table tipping experiment. We received a slight amount of movement but nothing substantial or conclusive. Graham did not sense anything significant in this location.
Rachel's group were in the Chapel area and experienced shadows, doors opening and closing and movement on the Ouija board. They communicated with an Irish gentleman called 'Liam' He claimed to of worked in the Chapel. Rachel had experienced Hard heavy pains on her head maybe what had happened to this man, a fall or something falling on his head. He did not clarify this but on leaving the room the pain left Rachel. 'Liam' was quite comical a happy charming womanising man. He flirted with Lesley and her friend Kerry quite readily. They enjoyed his banter!
We ended our investigation and closed down the session, all agreeing that we wanted to return to Cusworth Hall in the future for more investigation work.
