Ghost hunt at the Old Queen's Head, Sheffield - Sat 22nd May '10

The timber framed Old Queen's Head pub in Sheffield is located in a building which dates back to the 1400's and is thought to be the oldest property in the city. The place has a well-known reputation as a haunted hotspot and during our recent private party and ghost hunting events at the building many unexplained occurrences were reported including a deep. guttural sound which emanated from an empty chair and an eerie voice which said, "I am an old man." Was this the disembodied voice of the elderly gentleman wearing a flat cap who has been seen on many occasions? Just who was the woman with long, dark hair who was spotted at the top of the stairs before disappearing and what was responsible for the spectral shadow witnessed by a number of people as it passed through a partition walll? Will any further ghostly revelations unfold as we again try to contact the residents of the past who refuse to hear calls for last orders?

The Bishop's House which was built around 1500 is located in Meersbrook Park in the Norton Lees district of the city. Lived in by many different families until passed on to Sheffield Council in 1886 and then occupied by Council employees until 1974, the property has been the subject of many unexplained and ghostly happenings as reported by staff and visitors alike. Who is the lady in grey seen wandering around the house or looking out of an upstairs window? Can we solve the mystery of the old locked box found opened in the bed chamber when no-one present had the key (as featured by the local press)? Just who is heard walking around on the upper floor of this beautifully preserved timber framed property? Dare you join us as we try to find the answers?

Come and join us for a night of paranormal investigation as we search for evidence of ghostly activity at the infamous Golden Fleece. The inn is well-known to seasoned ghost hunters as possibly the most haunted building in York. During a recent visit to the 500-year-old property in preparation for an investigation two members of the Ghost Night Events team watched in amazement as a curtain billowed out in St Catherine's Room when all the windows were closed and there was no-one else in the room!
